Danielė Balsytė is a Lithuanian-born, UK-based visual artist currently residing in London. She graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2024, where her focus shifted from portrait to social documentary photography.
Her work navigates the intersections of memory, history, and visibility, often centering on what is overlooked, silenced, or erased. She is particularly drawn to landscapes—not just as physical spaces, but as quiet witnesses to time, carrying the weight of personal and collective narratives. Her latest project, A Land is a Slow Whisper, explores land as both a witness and an active participant in the stories of migration and colonization. It is currently on view at Aspex Gallery, Portsmouth, until June 1st, 2025.
