Familiar Place explores the layered emotions of displacement and the duality of home—how it can both nurture and alienate. Inspired by James Baldwin's words, "You don't have a home until you leave it, and then, when you have left it, you never can go back," the project delves into themes of identity, memory, and belonging. Blending personal reflection with broader explorations of immigration, family relationships, and childhood, it also examines the lasting impact of Soviet rule on Lithuania’s cultural landscape and collective identity.
